The Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) is a business school in India. In August of 2008, it announced it would launch a certificate training program in south India on commodity markets and derivatives in association with National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Ltd. (NCDEX). The program is targeted at participants with varying skill sets - corporates, traders, brokers, risk managers and students.
The board of governors includes leaders of major corporations in India. The finance secretary of the government of Tamilnadu, and the vice chancellor of the University of Madras are ex officio board members.
IFMR is recognized as a Social Science Research Institute by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India. It's approved as an institution of national importance by the Ministry of Finance.
IFMR was established in 1970 as a non-profit organization. It was sponsored by ICICI, the House of Kotharis and other major industrial groups. The board of governors includes leaders of major corporations in India.
