Jacques de Larosière was selected to spearhead an initiative by the commissioners of the European Union to overhaul the financial regulatory structure. He has also served as an advisor of BNP Paribas since 1998.[1]

Background

From 1993 to 1998, de Larosière served as Chairman of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He has also served as Governor of the Bank of France from 1987 to 1993 and as Chief Executive Officer of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
