It is the largest European-based company providing these services and is listed on the FTSE250 index of the London Stock Exchange.[1]

It was announced in early March of 2007 that ICAP and Jardine Lloyd Thompson would form a joint venture to develop derivatives that insurers could use to protect themselves from unpredictable risks such as catastrophes. The venture, which would be called Icap-JLT and be equally owned by both companies, would initially focus on four types of risks faced by insurers: catastrophe, property, longevity and political.[2]

History
