Johann Kaemingk is the founder and long-time chairman and former CEO of Optiver, an Amsterdam-based proprietary trading firm. In December 2013, Kaemingk stepped down from the CEO role in order to focus on the firm's risk management operations; Paul Hilgers was named as his replacement.
Kaemingk started Optiver in 1986, when he was a market maker on the Amsterdam-based European Options Exchange. Under Kaemingk, Optiver grew to one of nearly 700 employees trading on 50 exchanges and trading platforms.
