Jonathan Lourie co-founded and launched London-based hedge-fund manager Cheyne Capital Management in 1999. Before starting Cheyne Capital, Lourie spent 15 years at US investment bank Morgan Stanley, where he created the firm's convertible bond management practice. Since then his personal wealth has grown dramatically to an estimated UK£100m from his 80% stake in Cheyne plus existing income from past salaries and bonuses, the Sunday Times reported in 2009. and Cheyne Capital Management's funds have continued to outperform their competitors' for most of that period.
Lourie is a graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire.
