Kenichi Watanabe was the chief executive officer, representative executive officer, executive president and director of Nomura Holdings, Inc., as well as chief executive officer, executive president and director of its subsidiary, Nomura Securities Co., LTD., He began in that position in June 2008.[1] And he joined the company in April 1975 and previously served as managing director.[2]

Watanabe resigned in July 26, 2012 to take responsibility for a series of insider trading scandals about leaking information to clients ahead of planned securities offerings by energy company Inpex, Mizuho Financial Group and Tokyo Electric Power Co. in 2010. [3]
