Lane Mendelsohn is the founder of Web site TraderPlanet. The son of intermarket analysis software pioneer, Louis B. Mendelsohn, Lane Mendelsohn has been involved in the trading industry since 1993.
Mendelsohn's stated objective with TraderPlanet.com is to provide a central resource for traders to learn about the markets from other traders, free of charge. On Nov, 5, 2009, he was recognized by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as an honoree for the 2009 Up & Comers Award.
In response to the recent growth of the Web site despite the international economic downturn, Lane stated in a Nov. 17, 2008 interview with the St. Petersburg Times that "now more than ever (users) need to become educated."
Having accrued nearly 25,000 members since the launch of the community in January of 2009, this vision appears to resonate with traders worldwide. Lane has recently drawn upon his market experience by authoring his first book, The Economic Storm, which was published with Marketplace Books in October of 2009.
