Marianne C. Brown is the chief operating officer institutional and wholesale solutions at FIS.

Previously, she was chief operating officer of Sungard's Financial Systems business, which was acquired by FIS. She took over that role on February 24, 2014.[1]

She was previously president and CEO of Omgeo LLC, a subsidiary of The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation that specializes in post-trade processing.[2] She assumed the role in 2006 and led the firm through global expansion, regulatory changes related to the Dodd-Frank Act and, most recently, through the full acquisition of Omgeo by DTCC. She was replaced as president and CEO on Feb. 21, 2014 by Paula Sausville Arthus.[3]

Background

Before joining Omgeo in 2006, Brown served as chief executive officer of Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC). At SIAC, she was responsible for the delivery of all trading and regulatory solutions for New York Stock Exchange and provided production support for American Stock Exchange.

Brown started her career with Automatic Data Processing ("ADP") in their brokerage services group, now known as Broadridge Financial Services. She was with ADP until 2005.

She has been acknowledged with several industry awards, including:

Brown is a senior advisor to the international women’s development and microfinance organization Pro Mujer, as well as an advisor to the NYC Investment Funds IT Sector Group. She is president of the Board of Directors for Careers for People with Disabilities and a member of The Economic Club of New York and The Women’s Forum, Inc. She is also a director at the Partnership for New York City.

Previously, she was a mentor to young women at Marymount College, served as a member of the board of directors for the League for the Hard of Hearing and held several advisory positions with the Center for CIO Leadership and SIFMA’s Operations Advisory Board.

Education

Brown is a graduate of Concordia College with a degree in Business.
