Martin J. Glynn is a retired banking professional.

He was a member of the board of directors of MF Global prior to their bankruptcy in 2010. [1]

He is a director and audit committee member of Husky Energy Inc., [2] He also serves on the boards of Hathor Exploration Limited, [3] the VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Ltd., the Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur Arthur M. Sackler Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution, and the American Associates of the National Galleries Scotland.

Background

Immediately prior to his retirement after 24 years with the HSBC Group, Glynn was chief executive officer of HSBC Bank USA from 2003 to 2006 and chairman of HSBC Bank Canada.[4] While at HSBC, he served as group general manager of HSBC Holdings plc from 2001 to 2006, and chief executive officer of HSBC Bank Canada from 1999 to 2003. Glynn began his career at HSBC in 1982.

Education

Glynn has a B.A. in Economics from Carleton University and an MBA from the University of British Columbia. [5]
