Matt Vickerman is director, FX sales at Cboe Global Markets, selling products and services under the Cboe FX (formerly Hotspot) umbrella. He joined the company in that role in January of 2017, based in the New York office.
Vickerman previously worked at Sun Trading LLC based in Chicago in the role of business analyst from June 2009 to March 2011, working to bring new liquidity to the firm's proprietary trading platform. After two years with the firm, he was promoted to director of business development, with a mandate to manage and grow liquidity relationships with exchanges, ECN's, banks, and brokerages. Vickerman left the firm in December 2016 to join Cboe Global Markets in his current role.
Prior to Sun, Vickerman was an analyst at Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc from May 2006 to June 2009, working within the FX & interest rate derivatives prime brokerage division. In this role he supported client trading activity in OTC products including spot FX, options, forwards, NDF’s, interest rate products, and exotic derivatives.
Vickerman began his career in 2006 as a trader assistant on the FX Spot Desk at ABN AMRO in Chicago where he supported traders by managing order books and keeping track of delta positions.
Vickerman received a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Agribusinesss, Markets, & Management from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. There he was a research assistant at the Office for Futures and Options Research within the college of Agricultural and Consumer Economics. He was a James Scholar and also a recipient of the Jonathan Baldwin Turner Scholarship, both merit-based awards. He was also a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
He studied for a semester at Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven Belgium, completing coursework in the business curriculum including Advanced Monetary Theory & Policy, Bond Markets, International Marketing.
Vickerman was a fundraising coordinator at the Ravinia Nursery School from 2016 to 2017. He was a peer mentor at the Interfaith Union from 2014 to 2016. He was also President & Treasurer of the Southport Condominium Association from 2011 to 2014.
