Melissa Jurgens

Melissa Jurgens is chief of the executive secretariat branch of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). She was appointed to this newly created position in August 2014 after having served as commission secretary since January 2013. In this role, she oversees the Secretariat, Privacy, Records, the Library, and the Office of Proceedings.[1] BackgroundBefore working at the CFTC, Jurgens was deputy clerk of the Merit Systems Protection Board, where she led the transition to a fully electronic case file. Jurgens is also a member of the New York State Bar Association. EducationJurgens graduated cum laude from the University of Vermont. She earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
