Michael McClain is a derivatives clearing executive who joined the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) as managing director and general manager of equity clearing in April of 2017.
Previously at OCC, McClain led the development and execution of OCC’s business and technology strategies president and COO, and was responsible for all aspects of the firm’s operations and administration functions. As COO he oversaw OCC's technology and operations, which comprises approximately two-thirds of the organization's workforce.
Prior to that, McClain served as executive vice president and senior vice president, business operations, and as senior vice president, production operations, where he was responsible for managing OCC’s remote business sites. Before joining OCC in 2001, he held positions at Accenture and IBM, where he specialized in large-scale initiatives for the financial services industry.
McClain currently serves as a member of the advisory board of directors for the International Options Market Association (IOMA). He previously held positions on the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Operations and Technology Steering Committee, the Futures Industry Association, and OCC’s Operations Roundtable.
McClain graduated with an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A. from Lewis University.
