Peter J. Layton
Peter Layton is chairman of the Boston Options Exchange (BOX). He also serves on the board of advisors of Naperville, Illinois-based Efficient Capital Management, LLC. He is also a partner in Blackthorne Capital Management.
Layton previously served as a managing director at Goldman Sachs, and as a principal of Hull Trading Company, LLC, and Hull Equity Management LLC, which he founded. Hull has developed sophisticated algorithms that route trades, earning Hull it a $531-million (US) takeover offer from Goldman Sachs in 1999. Layton has more than 25 years of industry experience.
Layton, 47, was a founder of Hull Group, a Chicago-based market maker known in the industry as the leading US pioneer in electronic trading. It developed sophisticated algorithms that route trades to capture the best price, earning it a $531-million (US) takeover offer from Goldman Sachs in 1999.
Layton graduated from the Univeristy of Chicago with an AB in economics and an MBA in finance.
