Rufus Putnam Coes  is chief operating officer of Paulson & Co., an investment management firm that specializes in global merger and event arbitrage. Coes also is vice chairman of the board of directors of the Managed Funds Association.
Prior to Paulson, Coes was a managing director with Morgan Stanley , and before Morgan Stanley, a manager with Marakon Associates. Coes also served in various policy and management roles in the administration of President George H.W. Bush.
Coes earned his B.A. in Political Science from Trinity College and his MBA from the Yale School of Management
