Randal A. Nardone is the interim CEO, co-founder, principal and director at investment management firm Fortress Investment Group LLC. He has been a part of the management committee at Fortress since 1998, and was appointed to the board of directors in November 2006.
On Dec. 21, 2011, CEO Daniel H. Mudd announced that he would be taking a leave of absence due to his involvement in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) suit against Fannie Mae, where he was once CEO. Nardone temporarily replaced Mudd.
Nardone co-founded Fortress Investment Group in 1998. Prior to that, he was a managing director at UBS from May 1997 to May 1998. Nardone was a principal at BlackRock before that, and was a partner and member of the executive committee at law firm Thacher Proffitt & Wood early in his career.
In addition to his work for Fortress, Nardone is a director of Alea Group Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd., Brookdale Senior Living Inc., Eurocastle Investment Limited, GAGFAH S.A., Springleaf Finance Corporation and Springleaf Finance Inc.
