Rick Beaman is an exchange executive who is the former chief executive officer of Nasdaq Futures Exchange (NFX), Nasdaq's U.S.-based energy exchange. He took over that position from Magnus Haglind in June of 2016 [1] and stepped down in November of 2018.[2]

Beaman had been with Nasdaq since 2010, when he joined the company to head up sales and marketing for clearing of oil, natural gas and electricity transactions.[3]

Background

Before joining Nasdaq, he was vice president for sales and marketing at the machinery firm VMAC.

He started out working at Cantor Fitzgerald as an energy broker soon after leaving the Navy in 1996. He ultimately became general manager of Cantor's energy brokerage business (power, natural gas, emissions and coal) in a venture called TradeSpark. He moved from there to VMAC in 2004. He oversaw the successful launch of NFX in July 2015.[4]
