Tal Cohen is executive vice president, North American Market Services at Nasdaq. He was appointed to the role effective July 1, 2019 and is responsible for strategy and Nasdaq's trading businesses including cash equities, commodities, derivatives and trade management services for US and Canadian markets. He also manages trading products, client relationships and market operations.[1][2]

Cohen joined Nasdaq in April 2016 as senior vice president of North American Equities after the exchange acquired Chi-X Canada, where he served as CEO of Chi-X Global, then a wholly-owned subsidiary of Instinet Inc. He was appointed to the position on September 7, 2010.

Background

Cohen previously served as CEO of Chi-X Global's Americas business, which includes Chi-X Canada and the BVMF joint venture, Chi-FX Brazil. For nearly ten years before moving to Chi-X Global, Cohen held a variety of senior roles with Instinet, including head of Instinet Canada Limited, head of U.S. Business Development and Strategy, and multiple global product management positions. Before joining Instinet, he served as M&A Manager at American Express and before that as senior business advisor at Arthur Andersen.

Education

Cohen holds a B.A. from SUNY Albany and an M.B.A. from New York University's Stern School of Business and is a Certified Public Accountant.
