Thomas F. LaSala is managing director, NYMEX Chief Regulatory Officer for the CME Group. [1] LaSala oversees all market regulation and regulatory affairs related to the NYMEX self-regulatory organization. Previously, LaSala was the chief regulatory officer of the New York Mercantile Exchange.[2]


LaSala joined NYMEX in 1984, hired in market surveillance. Later he was promoted vice president of compliance in December 1993.

At the CME Group, LaSala reports to Kathleen Cronin, CME Group general counsel and corporate secretary.

LaSala was a participant in the March 25, 2010 CFTC hearing on precious and base metals futures and options markets[3].


LaSala holds a bachelors of science degree in business administration with a concentration in Finance/Economics from Marist College in 1983.
