Thomas J. Murphy
Thomas J. Murphy is a Chicago-based brokerage executive who is a co-founder and chairman of TJM Institutional Services, LLC.
Murphy's career in financial services began in 1978 when he joined Blythe, Eastman, and Dillon working in institutional equity and fixed income sales.
He moved to Chicago in 1981 and managed brokerage operations on the CME and CBOT.
While managing the operations at the Gelber Group, Murphy met Steve Beilter in 1985. They united at Prudential Securities in 1990. In 1996, Beitler and Murphy partnered with John Burke to form TJM Institutional Services, which is an independent institutional broker in clearing and execution services. TJM has offices in Chicago and New York.
Murphy graduated from St. John’s University with a bachelor of science in finance. He holds Series 3, 7, 24, and 63 licenses.
