Vassilis Vergotis is head of strategy for Eurex. He was promoted to that position in November of 2020. He was previously executive vice president for Eurex in the United States, starting on Sept. 1, 2009.
He heads up Eurex’s presence in the U.S. His staff is responsible for customer relationship management as well as business development. He was responsible for Eurex’s sell-side business development in the Americas.
Prior to his work at Eurex in business development, Vergotis held a variety of roles within Eurex including product development where he played an instrumental role in growing the exchange’s European equity options business. His mix of business and IT skills have also been put to use to help Eurex promote its algorithmic trading solutions.
Vergotis served as a member of the board of trustees of The IFM and stepped down in March of 2015.
Vergotis is an MBA graduate of Cranfield University in the U.K., holds an undergraduate degree in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (Greece) and is fluent in five languages.
