William R. Shepard is the founder and president of Shepard International, Inc., an introducing broker guaranteed by FC Stone, LLC. Shepard is a member of CME Group Inc. board of directors,[1] where he has served since 1997.[2][3]

Sheppard serves on the CME Group executive committee, as well as the compensation, finance and nominating committees.[4]

Background

Previously Shepard served as second vice chairman from 2002 to July 2007. He has been a member of CME for more than 40 years.

Shepard is the only member of the board of the CME Group without a picture displayed on the site.

In 2009, Crain's Chicago Business listed the CME Group as having the #135 worst board and noted Shepard was paid $195,746 in 2008 for his duties as a non-executive director of the CME Group.[5]

According to a 2014 Bloomberg article, Shepard is alleged to be a part-owner of Jump Trading LLC.[6]

In 2010, after the CME Group share prices were down 23 percent in the previous three months, Shepard bought 5,000 A shares for a total of $1.2 million.[7]

Education

Shepard attended the University of Oklahoma.[8]
