The California Air Resources Board (ARB) is a department of the California Environmental Protection Agency, with a focus on promotion and protection of public health, welfare and ecological resources by reducing air pollution.
The AB32 Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 holds the ARB responsible for monitoring and reducing GHG emissions to 2000 levels by 2010 or 11% below business as usual, to 1990 levels by 2020 or 25% below business as usual, and 80% below 1990 levels by 2050.
