C. Mead Welles
C. Mead Welles is president and senior portfolio manager of Octagon Asset Management, LLC, a New York-based investment advisor specializing in structured finance. He co-founded Octagon in 1998.
He is also the chairman and co-founder of the charity A Leg to Stand On (ALTSO), a charitable organization founded in 2002 that helps children with limb disabilities in developing countries by providing free corrective surgery and artificial limbs.
Welles was one of the winners of the 2013 World of Children Award for his work with ALTSO.
He received his B.A. in Economics from Bates College in Lewiston, ME and studied international business in Lugano, Switzerland.
