David Mortimer is managing director at Pipeline Financial Group, in charge of equity options.[1] He was previously founder, chairman and CEO of 3D Markets Inc., which was acquired by Pipeline in April of 2009. [2]

Mortimer is recognized for his leadership in the design and implementation of algorithmic and alternative trading system technology. [3][4]

Before launching 3D Markets, Mortimer was a consultant to institutional clients on trading systems and execution implementation at Vodia Group.

Before that, he was head of algorithmic and portfolio trading at Piper Jaffray, where he was responsible for all product concept, design and development including Fusion, Piper's first-to-market ATS aggregation technology.[5]

Mortimer was also president of Vie Financial, an algorithmic trading business which marked among the top algorithm providers in the Tabb Group's 2005 Equity Trading in America report. Vie was acquired by Piper Jaffray in 2005.

Education

Mortimer is a graduate of Drexel University's College of Business and Administration.
