A veteran of futures trading, J. Robert Collins [1] is founder and a managing member of Rosenthal Collins Group, an independent futures clearing firm. He brings more than 40 years of experience to the company that bears his name, and is regarded as one of the preeminent executives in the industry.

In 2017, Collins was named to the FIA Futures Hall of Fame.[2]

Background

In 1923, his father, John F. Collins, became a clearing member of the Chicago Board of Trade[3]. In 1961 - the year pork bellies were first traded on the CME – his son joined him, and J.Robert Collins has subsequently served in management at RCG and its predecessor firms for over 40 years.

In 1968, Collins was elected president of the MidAmerica Commodity Exchange, which became part of the Chicago Board of Trade in 1986. He also served as a director of the CBOT and governor of the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation.

Today, he continues his leadership as RCG's co-principal.
