KPMG LLP's UK division offers audit, tax and advisory services. KPMG has 22 offices in the UK[1], and is also the administrator for bankrupt broker-dealer MF Global's UK unit. In January 2012, KPMG LLP UK revealed that cash bonuses promised to employees prior to the firm's collapse would be considered "unsecured claims" and would be a lowest priority during the recovery of funds.[2]

History

KPMG LLP was formed in 1987 from the merger of Peat Marwick International (PMI) and Klynveld Main Goerdeler (KMG). The name KPMG resulted from the combination of the two companies' initials. The UK division of KPMG was created in April of that year.
