McDermott joined Nadex in 2008 after spending four years as a director and compliance counsel at CME Group. Before that, he spent 13 years at the law firm of Gardner, Carton & Douglas, beginning as an associate in 1990. He became a partner in 1997, specializing in financial markets litigation.
Before his legal career, he worked as a financial analyst and passed the Illinois Certified Public Accounting examination.
