Before joining EBS, Tolat was at Integral Development Corp., an FX trading technology provider he co-founded in 1993. Prior to Integral, he worked on a number of startups and was a developer for several joint NASA-Stanford University Space Shuttle missions.[2]

Tolat has a doctorate and a master's degree in Computer Engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree from University of Miami.
