APX-ENDEX is a European energy exchange that operates spot and futures markets for electricity and natural gas in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Belgium. Established in 1999, the company provides market data and a range of indices for use by traders, energy suppliers and energy-intensive industries.
History[edit]
In September of 2012, APX-ENDEX announced a restructuring in which it would split off its derivatives and spot natural gas business. As part of the restructuring, Intercontinental Exchange would acquire a 79.1 percent stake in a new company with the balance held by Gasunie, one of APX's assets.
