Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company based in Bermuda.[1] It focuses on helping big corporations adapt to changing market conditions and helping them outsource such functions as human resources, finance and information technology.[2] It serves companies in many industries, including: aerospace and defense, commercial manufacturers, defense contractors, airports, automotive suppliers, building materials, wireless and cable, apparel, electronics, energy, financial services and media.
It was originally the consulting arm of Arthur Andersen, but split from Andersen in 1989 to become Andersen Consulting. It adopted the name "Accenture" on January 1, 2001.
