Alexandra "Lexy" Prodromos
Prodromos heard about smart contracts in 2014 and became interested in exploring their application to legal contracts. In learning more about them she eventually discovered, and became infatuated with, blockchain technology.
As a college graduation gift, her parents gave her a ticket to the Consensus conference in New York City, where she met Vitalik Buterin and heard Matthew Roszak, the founder of Bloq and the Chicago Blockchain Center, speak.
She also heard the governor of Delaware present the Delaware Blockchain Initiative and decided that Chicago could be a hub for blockchain as well. She approached the newly created Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology with a proposal and ended up working with them on a blockchain working group as its only non-government participant. With the help of a number of other agencies, they created the Illinois Blockchain Initiative (IBI).
She met Rozsak again at a later conference and he hired her for the position at Bloq.
Starting at the company in 2016, Prodomos became business development manager at Bloq, a fintech company specializing in dApps and blockchain technology. In that role, she promoted Bloq's software and venture initiatives. She also served as the company's head of information strategy for the first quarter of 2020 before leaving for to become director of marketing and technology at the Illinois Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics and Stem Cell Center in April of that year.
Prodromos earned a Bachelor's degree in political science from Pepperdine University and a Masters of Science in Information Systems from Northwestern University.
Prodromos was a guest on the CryptoMarketsWiki Podcast in 2019.
