Anna Irrera is a New York-based journalist how is a fintech correspondent at Thomson Reuters.[1]

Background[edit]

Irrera joined Thomson Reuters in late 2016 after covering fintech for more than three years at Financial News, a Dow Jones newspaper in London, where she played a key role in the publication’s expanded fintech coverage. She joined Dow Jones as an online reporter for Financial News in 2012 after having moved to the UK from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she worked at Reuters’ English language international service.

In between journalism school and law school, she worked at the Italian national publication ItaliaOggi, covering law and taxes.

Irrera is the author of “Prendo a calci il sole- Bahia, i bambini, la strada,” 13 true stories of Brazilian meninos de rua (children of the street), a project she began while a visiting student at Harvard University in 2007. She is fluent in English, Italian and Portuguese.

She holds an M.S. degree (with honors) from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York and a graduate degree in law from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.
