Bernard Goyder is a journalist known for his coverage of the global financial markets, particularly in the areas of insurance, reinsurance, and risk management.[1][2][3][4]

Goyder's career in journalism began with roles at organizations such as Oxford Analytica and Iglu.com.

In 2014, Goyder served as an emerging markets correspondent for Acquisitions Daily, covering a wide range of topics related to emerging market economies.

From 2015 to 2016, Goyder worked for Dow Jones in London as a reporter at Financial News, a sister publication of The Wall Street Journal. During his tenure, he focused on covering the financial services industry, developing a network of contacts within investment banks, asset managers, and trading venues. Goyder's reporting at Financial News was characterized by a series of corporate broking exclusives.[5]

In 2017, Goyder before joining Risk.net he was a senior reporter at Euromoney Institutional Investor, writing for The Insurance Insider, where he specialized in covering the insurance and reinsurance industry. Over the course of four years, he broke more than 150 exclusive stories on various topics, including the aftermath of natural disasters, high-profile insurance deals, and industry trends.

Since November 2021, Goyder has served as a senior staff writer at Risk.net, where he covers the financial markets with a focus on risk management and regulatory developments. In this role, he has broken significant stories, including a $4 billion M&A deal involving Allianz and the market's reaction to regulatory changes proposed by the SEC.

Goyder holds a bachelor's degree in history at SOAS University of London, where he graduated with honors. During his time at SOAS, he was actively involved in student politics, serving as the campaigns officer for the SOAS Students Union.

Goyder later completed a master's degree in financial journalism at City, University of London.
