Chris Rhodes is a London-based derivatives trader, entrepreneur and exchange executive who currently serves as the president of ICE Futures Europe, a global futures and options exchange based in London and operated by Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE). Prior to his current role, Rhodes served as the chief operating officer of ICE Clear Europe, a subsidiary of ICE.[1][2] He was appointed president of ICE Futures Europe in June of 2022, replacing former president of ICE Futures Europe Stuart Williams who has been promoted to group chief operating officer.[3][4]

Background[edit]

From 2019 to 2021, Rhodes held the position of chief risk officer at Tyler Capital, a financial trading firm.

Chris began his tenure at Intercontinental Exchange in 2015, initially serving as the head of European interest rates. In 2018, he earned a promotion to the role of global head of financial derivatives, overseeing ICE's interest rate and equity derivatives markets worldwide.[5][6]

During his time with the company, Chris has played a pivotal role in enhancing ICE's interest rate offerings. He spearheaded the launch of Eris interest rate futures and futures on SONIA and SOFR alternative risk-free rates.[7]

With over 14 years of experience in the derivatives markets, Rhodes has held various positions, including serving as a founding partner at Arc Derivatives and as a senior trader at Investec Bank UK.

Rhodes holds a first-class honours degree in economics from the University of Hertfordshire.
