Christopher Edmonds is senior vice president, financial markets at the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).[1]

He was previously president of ICE Clear Credit, ICE’s wholly-owned credit default swap clearing house, beginning in February 2010. As president of ICE Clear Credit, Edmonds was responsible for ICE's North American credit derivatives clearing operations. [2]

Edmonds has more than fifteen years of risk management and market experience, and he holds Series 3 and Series 30 registrations.

He is the national president of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. The fraternity services around 150 locations across the U.S.[3]


Edmonds was formerly the chief executive officer of International Derivatives Clearing Group, or IDCG. He was appointed to the position in August of 2008. It was announced in January of 2010 that he had "stepped down to pursue other opportunities".

Before joining IDCG, Edmonds was chief development officer for ICAP Energy, LLC, an ICAP subsidiary. From 2005 to 2008, Edmonds led ICAP Energy’s growth efforts within the energy and commodities space.

He also served as the chief executive officer of ICAP Futures, LLC, where he is credited with increasing the over-the-counter (OTC) cleared products and services in energy and commodities.[4]. Edmonds was also the chief operating officer and lead architect in the design of ICAP Energy’s online platform, True Quote. Edmonds was instrumental in developing strategic partnerships on ICAP Energy’s behalf.

Edmonds was also involved with the launch of NYMEX's ClearPort Clearing, which became a reality in 2002.

Edmonds is a 1992 graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he earned a B.A. in Political Science.
