Clare Black
Clare Black is managing director at Streets Consulting, a financial services and technology business development, marketing and communications consultancy. She joined the company in that role in January 2022. She reports to Streets Consulting Founder & CEO Julia Streets.[1] Black was previously director of corporate affairs & communications for Innovate Finance, an independent not-for-profit industry body representing the UK's global FinTech community. She took that post in November 2018, after serving as strategic communications advisor at the organization starting in July 2018.[2] Black has more than 25 years of experience in financial services. She served in a variety of roles, including communications and consultancy, diversity and inclusion, research director, editor and journalist. She was worked in Europe, West Africa, North America and across the UK. In 2019, Black was named one of 30 inspirational women city leaders by Brummell Magazine.[3] Background[edit]In addition to Innovate Finance, she serves as director of research at Contango Markets.[4] Black also served for 14 years as a reporter and deputy editor at Reuters, managing more than 100 correspondents in the Europe, Middle East and Asia zones. She served in several locations for Reuters including London, New York and Ivory Coast.[5] She is also a strong proponent and actively involved with financial and charitable organizations as well as those for blind children. She is on the board of Women In Listed Derivatives in London as well as chairman and trustee director of Blind Children UK since 2007, a trustee at Sight For Surrey and non-executive director and board trustee, and member of the audit and investment committees for the charity, The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. The mother of a blind son, she has committed to promoting care and services for the blind.
