Daniel Carrigan is president and a member of the board of directors of NASDAQ Futures, Inc. (NFX), the US Futures Exchange of NASDAQ OMX Group. He has held both positions since November 2011. He also serves as associate vice president of NASDAQ OMX Global Trading & Market Services for global new product development across interest rates and currencies.

Before his election as president, Carrigan was senior managing director of products, services & operations of NFX from 2004-2011. He also served as head of new product development for the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (“PHLX”) from 2004-2008 (PHLX was acquired by NASDAQ OMX in July 2008). He was the architect of the PHLX / NFX foreign currency product growth strategy, which included the January 2007 listing of PHLX US Dollar-settled currency options http://nasdaqtrader.com/FXOptions and the August 2007 listing of Dollar-settled foreign currency futures.[1] [2]

Before joining the PHLX, Carrigan helped start and run OneChicago, LLC, an exchange for single stock futures (2000 - 2002). Prior to OneChicago, he was executive managing director and co-head of North America (1989-2000) for Finacor Group, a Futures Commission Merchant and broker dealer, where he oversaw operations and regulatory compliance. During his tenure with Finacor, he was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He got his start in the derivatives industry in 1987 with Bellwether Partners, a Tudor Investment Group subsidiary, as a proprietary trader of foreign currency and US Treasury futures.

Education[edit]

Carrigan received a bachelor of science in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986 and is pursuing a M.S. in Management at Thomas Edison State College.
