David H. Sidwell is the former chief financial officer of Morgan Stanley.He currently serves as a member of the SEC Advisory Committee on Improvements to Financial Reporting  where he chairs the Standards Setting Process Subcommittee. Sidwell serves as a trustee of the International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation  and as a director of UBS AG. He also has been a Fannie Mae director  since December 2008. 
Sidwell joined Morgan Stanley in March, 2004 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He came to Morgan Stanley from JP Morgan Chase, where he had worked since 1984. He was the controller of JPMorgan before its merger with Chase. Prior to that, he spent nine years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, both in New York and London.
He graduated from Cambridge University in England in 1975 and is a chartered accountant.
