David M. Solomon
David Solomon is the chief executive officer of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., a role he took over in October 2018. He is a member of the company's management committee and chair of the firmwide client and business standards committee and the firmwide reputational risk committee. He is also co-chair of the firmwide enterprise risk committee. Solomon was previously the president and chief operating officer at Goldman Sachs. On July 16, 2018 it was reported that Solomon would be named CEO of Goldman Sachs, succeeding Lloyd Blankfein, who would step down as CEO.[1] Solomon is a member of the Board of Trustees of Hamilton College and serves on the board of The Robin Hood Foundation. He produces dance music under the handle "DJ D-Sol." [2] Background[edit]Previously, Solomon was co-head of the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs from July 2006 to December 2016 and before that, he was the global head of the financing group, which includes all capital markets and derivative products for the firm’s corporate clients. He joined Goldman Sachs from Bear Stearns in 1999, coming in as a partner and rising quickly through the ranks.[3] Education[edit]Solomon is a graduate of Hamilton College and Harvard Law School.
