Pinto took the position in May of 2008. Pinto also serves on the board of directors of the World Federation of Exchanges. Background Prior to taking the CEO's position, Pinto was CEO of BM&F from April 1999 to May 2008 when he took office at co-CEO of BM&F Bovespa. Pinto joined BM&F as an economist in January of 1986. In July 1987, Pinto was promoted to derivatives clearinghouse officer, responsible for risk management, settlement, participant registration, collateral, custody and controllership.
