She is the co-founder and CEO of Lightning Labs, the company responsible for the development of the Lightning Network. Background Elizabeth Stark was formerly a researcher at the Harvard Berkman Center for Internet & Society. She also previously taught as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Stanford StartX and as a visiting fellow at Yale’s Information Society Project. She has taught courses on peer-to-peer technology, digital privacy, open-source software, and Internet memes. She is currently a Fellow at the digital currency policy organisation Coin Center. In March 2018, the public beta Lightning Network was released. Stark said the beta would be available "first to advanced users and developers and then broader users."
