Eric Nield is the chief compliance officer at ICE Clear U.S.
Prior to its acquisition by ICE, he was senior vice president and general counsel at the Chicago Climate Exchange. He was appointed general counsel in May of 2009 and given the additional title of senior vp on June 19, 2009. He has oversight over all the exchange’s legal and regulatory functions
Prior to joining the Chicago Climate Exchange, Nield served as a general counsel at Credit Agricole Asset Management Alternative Investments and head of legal at Newedge, where he was responsible for the Americas zone legal function of the global derivatives brokerage and broker-dealer firm. Nield has also held operations and compliance positions at ABN AMRO, ED&F Man and at the Office of Investigations at the Chicago Board of Trade. He also worked as an attorney servicing clients in the financial services industry at Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman.
Nield graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Chicago-Kent College of Law with a Juris Doctor, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.
