Fredric Tomczyk Occupation Chief Executive Officer Employer Cboe Global Markets LinkedIn Profile Website https://www.cboe.com/ Fred Tomczyk is an accountant, banker and brokerage and exchange executive who took over as the CEO of Cboe Global Markets on September 19, 2023, after longtime CEO Edward T. Tilly resigned from the company. Tomczyk is a Cboe board member, having joined the board in 2019. He steps down from the CEO role on May 7, 2025 but will remain on the board. He was previously president and CEO of TD Ameritrade from October 2008 to October 2016. Tomczyk had previous crisis experience in his job as CEO of TD Ameritrade, which he began amid the 2008 financial crisis. He is the lead independent director of Sagen MI Canada, a Canadian mortgage insurance company. Tomczyk serves as a member of the board of directors of The World Federation of Exchanges, the global trade organization for securities and futures exchanges and CCPs. Background Before becoming president and CEO of TD Ameritrade, Tomczyk served as the firm’s chief operating officer, with responsibility for implementing the company’s growth strategy. He also helped negotiate and shape the merger of Ameritrade and TD Waterhouse in 2005. He served as a member of the TD Ameritrade board of directors prior to joining the firm. Before TD Ameritrade, he served as vice chairman of TD Bank Financial Group. Earlier, he was president and CEO of London Life and London Insurance Group.  He also held a number of executive roles for Canada Trust, which later became TD Canada Trust. Education Tomczyk earned a Bachelor of Science in applied economics and business management from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He obtained a Chartered Accountant designation in 1982.
