Fredric Tomczyk
Fred Tomczyk took over as the CEO of Cboe Global Markets on September 19, 2023, after longtime CEO Edward T. Tilly resigned from the company. Tomczyk is a Cboe board member, having joined the board in 2019. He was previously president and CEO of TD Ameritrade from October 2008 to October 2016.[1] Background[edit]Before becoming president and CEO of TD Ameritrade, he served as the firm’s chief operating officer, with responsibility for implementing the company’s growth strategy. He also helped negotiate and shape the merger of Ameritrade and TD Waterhouse in 2005. He served as a member of the TD Ameritrade board of directors prior to joining the firm.[2] Before TD Ameritrade, he served as vice chairman of TD Bank Financial Group. Earlier, he was president and CEO of London Life and London Insurance Group.[3] He also held a number of executive roles for Canada Trust, which later became TD Canada Trust. Education[edit]Tomczyk earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Business Management from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1982.
