Fumiki Kondo is the head of Nomura Asset Management’s overseas client division in Tokyo. He was designated to that position on March 6, 2014. He was previously Co-CEO of Instinet Inc., with primary responsibility for Instinet's European and Asian operations. He also served as chairman of the Instinet subsidiary Chi-X Global.
Background[edit]
Kondo was previously managing director and head of U.S. equity strategic planning at Nomura Securities International in New York. He was seconded to Instinet, initially as co-chairman and president, after Nomura closed its acquisition of Instinet in February 2007. Kondo has held high-level positions in New York, London and Tokyo, including executive director of institutional equity sales at Nomura Securities Japan and executive vice president at Nomura BlackRock Asset Management.
