Background[edit]

Haase has worked in the futures industry for over 40 years. He joined the compliance department of the New York Cotton Exchange in 1979 and rose to assistant treasurer.

In 1986, he began working at the NYCE’s Commodity Clearing Corpora­tion. From 1993, he had been president of the New York Clearing Corporation, and remained president in June 2007, when ICE acquired the NYCC, changing the name of the company to ICE Clear U.S.[2]

For 20 years, Haase was a member of the FIA Futures Services Division. In 2007, Haase was inducted into the Futures Industry Association's Futures Hall of Fame, which was establlished in 2005 to commemorate outstanding contributions to the global futures and options community. [3]
