Hu Liang is an American entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Omniex.[1]

Hu Liang started his career at the IBM Almaden Research Center after graduating from Rutgers University and the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. He attempted to launch a security startup called Forion before moving on to Currenex, a company that designs and manages a large-scale Internet-based FX platform for institutional traders and high-frequency markets. The State Street Corporation later acquired Currenex in 2007. Liang designed Currenex's automated trading platform. Liang later spent four years in Hong Kong overseeing State Street Bank's FX platforms and data services before becoming the bank's SVP, as well as the founder of its Emerging Technologies Center, which focused on developing crypto, blockchain, and other technologies.[2]

Liang left his position at State Street to found "Project Omni," which later became Omniex. He told Coindesk that the purpose of creating Omniex was to meet rising demand for institutional investors to have "traditional" software applications with which to make large investments in digital assets.[3]

Hu Liang has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.[4]
