Founded 2010

Chicago-based Interactive Data 7ticks is a technology firm that specializes in managed IT services for the financial trading marketplace.

On Dec. 14, 2009, Interactive Data Corporation announced it would purchase the firm 7ticks LLC. The acquisition was completed on Jan. 19, 2010.[1][2]

Interactive Data widened the footprint of the 7ticks network with data centers in the metropolitan New York area, followed by London and Tokyo, which enabled the company to support electronic trading businesses in those areas.[3][4]

Interactive Data 7ticks now operates a global network of high-bandwidth telecommunications circuits that connect major global financial data centers. This private network is designed to allow the company to distribute raw multicast data among sites which can enable ultra low-latency arbitrage and cross-market trading. The firm now offers clients access to over 50 markets worldwide.

Products and Services[edit]

Direct Financial Exchange Access[edit]

Direct market access enables low latency trading connectivity and allows financial firms to access exchange matching engines directly without unessential layers of hardware or software getting in the way of performance. Currently available low latency exchange connections.

Co-location and Proximity Hosting[edit]

Physically locating near financial exchanges means reductions in latency between client servers and the exchanges. Through proximity POP’s (points-of-presence) built at many leading exchanges and, whenever possible, co-locations in the same building as the exchange presence, direct cross-connects into the network infrastructure ensure optimal network performance.
