Jamil M. Nazarali
Jamil M. Nazarali is the chief executive offer at EDX Markets, a new exchange created by Citadel Securities along with Virtu Financial, Charles Schwab Corp., and Fidelity Digital Assets, to enable the trading of digital assets through trusted intermediaries.
He was previously the global head of business development at Citadel Securities. He was appointed to that position in April of 2018, replacing Remco Lenterman. Nazarali was previously senior advisor to Citadel Securities CEO Peng Zhao, a role he assumed in May 2017.
Nazarali joined Citadel Securities in 2011 as head of execution services. He oversaw Citadel Securities’ client market making offerings in equities, options and FX.
He is also a member of the Nasdaq Quality of Markets Committee.
He is chairman of the board of directors of Members Exchange (MEMX). He also sits on the board of Symphony, a messaging and collaboration platform, and on the board of advisors of The Small Exchange. He serves as an advisor to DARPA’s Financial Markets Vulnerabilities Project and is a regular guest lecturer at Princeton’s Bendheim Center for Finance and Columbia University’s Program in the Law and Economics of Capital Markets.
Before joining Citadel Securities in 2011, he was global head of electronic trading at Knight Capital Group.
Nazarali received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
