Jean-Baptiste Zufferey [1] is vice chairman of the Swiss Federal Banking Commission, a position he has held since 2003.


Zufferey has taught Public Law at the University of Fribourg [2] since 1994. During the mid-1990s, he taught by invitation at the University of Geneva and since 1998, has taught by invitation at the Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne. Zufferey has been active in the field of banking and financial law for years. He is a member of the Chamber of International Cooperation of the SFBC and chairs the annual Regulators' Meeting at Burgenstock. He is a member of the boards of directors of Compagnie Bancaire Espirito Santo, SA, Portailprive Holding SA and Piaget & Associes SA.


Zufferey holds a Doctor of Law, LL.M. and a Ph.D. from the Univeristy of Fribourg.
