Jeffrey Yass is the co-founder and managing director of Susquehanna International Group, based in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania.
Background[edit]
After attending college at Binghamton, Jeffrey Yass went to Las Vegas with some friends and made a bundle playing poker in Las Vegas. He brought his winnings back home to New York and went to business school at NYU. He became an options trader on the American Stock Exchange and then on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, eventually buying a seat on the latter exchange.
Yass and his friends from Binghamton college — Arthur Dantchik, Eric Brooks, Andrew Frost, Steven H. Bloom, and Joel Greenberg — formed Susquehanna in 1987, just before the market crashed. On October 19th — Black Monday — Susquehanna made several million dollars.[1]
